Ice-cream cone cupcakes

Hello Grasshoppers!

I have a thing for food that looks like other food and I've been wanting to try ice-cream cone cupcakes for some time now. They're so cute and look just like real ice-cream cones. Here's how to make them.

Find some ice-cream cones with flat bottoms. I got these from Countdown. Mix up some cupcake batter (using the old faithful recipe) and spoon it into the cone. Don't go completely overboard with ye olde mixture, though, because they rise (and some overflowed... argh).

Ice with butter cream icing and sprinkle with your favourite ice-cream toppings. Add a flake to give that authentic Mr Whippy look. A cherry may look really sweet, too.

I loved making these and they were so easy. They'd be perfect for little kids' birthday parties (I'd bake one for each child, ice it and then set out a table full of decorations and let them go nuts decorating their own cakes). Or they'd be nice for a surprise office morning tea... ;)

Have a happy day!
